The "Dis" bench is a continuation of the designer's research process into various concepts through auxiliary seating.
In this context, the piece emphasizes the paradox of highlighting differences in such a universal object as a stool. By recognizing these discrepancies, the cracks and contradictions inherent in the foundations upon which we've built our reality are revealed. This allows us to examine it and open a window to the uncertainty of what is possible, of what is different.
The name of the bench is based on the Latin prefix "dis-", which denotes a multiple separation. In the piece, two very distinct formal strategies can be identified, with an abrupt transition that attempts to capture this idea of difference. It is made from fir slats and treated with colored wax.
