This project is a reflection on the patios materialized through the creation of a seating system.. With them the character of close coexistence between people is reinterpreted, where in a common delimited space the tradition is revived.
The patio was an eminently feminine space, since men were absent from work, where the daily life of families was articulated through the close fraternity of the women who lived there. Here, several generations of women and children interacted, shared work, leisure and orally passed on their knowledge. It was a place of encounter, coexistence, work and culture.
The structure manufactured in MDF, corresponds to the space that defines the seating area. The seat, on the other hand, wants to be the witness of the tradition, being a piece handmade in enea by artisans.
This piece was made for “Sisters” exhibition, project curated by Sanna Völker.
